Willow was born with a congenital condition called Swimmer's Syndrome. The condition means Willow was unable to stand or walk at the normal three weeks of age. Instead, her chest was flat and her legs were splayed out like a turtle “swimming.”
For Willow's breeder, she was considered a defect and was about to throw her out like trash but by chance he first posted a message on social media. Somehow, this message was repeatedly shared until it reached Jennifer Williams, President at 2nd Chances Rescue in Norco, California.
Jenn got in the car and drove to this breeder’s home where she saw 5 healthy Neapolitan Mastiff’s running and playing – and then saw Willow who was floundering on the ground unable to keep up. These “defective” dogs are often euthanized or abandoned.

Willow was in such a severe state that she could not eat or drink. Jenn immediately took Willow to Animal Acuscope Therapist, Gina Gould. Within two days, Willow took her first steps. Within months, she was running.
Using a combination of binding her chest, tying her legs in the correct position, acuscope therapy and swimming, Willow has made a complete recovery. Today, eight months later, Willow is 80 lbs., rambunctious, happy and healthy.
Note: A Neapolitan Mastiff puppy sells for $1,000 on the low end. From a reputable breeder, Mastiff puppies can sell as high as $3,000.

Watch the video below as Willow, the purebred 4 week old Neapolitan Mastiff puppy who was about to be thrown out like trash because she was deemed “defective”, was saved by 2nd Chances Rescue.

What is it with people? just because the pup wasnt like the rest or wouldnt have made them any money, they throw it out like some piece of rubbish!?? Do they not realise that though the pup may not make money for them, its still a life, it still lives, breathes and needs as much nurture as any pup; Blasted commercialism! greed!; it has a lot to answer for!

The thought of someone “throwing out” a puppy makes me sad! I’m so glad this lady found him and was able to nurse him to good health.

If the breeder was going to “throw out” this puppy, they would not have shared it on social media hoping to find a home who had time to invest into therapy. They would have just put the pup to sleep without telling a soul. This was a good breeder.
Click Bait like this hurts the dog breeding and purebred dog world. Stop sharing trash. You are doing nothing but helping the HSUS and PETA do their job.

Thank you for caring so much for willow. Stories make me cry and wish there were no such thing as puppy mills and breeders. It is nothing but greed that drives these people…..

I hate this….I rescued a chocolate lab prom a breeder. She was about to be put down when I took her to the vet she was full of worms and dehydrated…..a few weeks later she lost her eye. She ended up living to a ripe age of 13….she was 8 weeks when I got her. It makes me sick when breeders do this, their are people out there (like myself) who will love these animals unconditionally!

I once ran into someone at the airline ticketing counter that was sending a mastiff puppy back (in cargo) because they didn’t like the look of her paws. As far as I could see, she was perfect and so sweet. If I had been arriving instead of departing, I’d have bought the dog from her right there and then. Some people don’t deserve dogs.

Dylan MacFarlane There would not be people with hearts if it wasn’t for GOD. Why do you have a problem with me praising GOD, I don’t have a problem with you not praising him because we will both stand before him one day. and he will make the ultimate judgement. Geez.

We got our Georgie from a breeder who was going by to put him down because he was “defective” he’s a double dapple Dixie. So the breeder screwed up and bred two dogs he shouldn’t have. We happen to think George is perfect just the way he is!

Most, yes, most “breeders” so-called are too stupid to continue the practice. And who suffers??the dogs of course, the innocent ones in the whole “money grubbing” practice.
