Annie Ko, a South Korean musician, worked as a translator for Humane Society International during the raiding and closing of yet another dog meat farm in the country.
But little did she know that she would end up becoming a doggy mom right there on that very property that day!

The tiny, white fluffy puppy caught her eye, and there was an immediate connection. She knew she had to have him! She named the pup DeeJay and welcomed him into the family on the spot!

The Humane Society of the United States is working around the clock to fight the dog meat trade in Asia, but change only happens when it comes from within the hearts and minds of locals like Annie.
Most South Koreans are now against the dog meat industry, and with their support and activism the end to the inhumane trade is in sight.
