Cop Finds Scorched Puppy Lying In Piles Of Trash & Carries Him To His New Life

Lake Lotawana police are searching for the monster who burned a ten-week-old German Shepherd puppy and dumped him.

Police Officer Tim Coen found the injured pup in a spot where people frequently dump their trash, but he was certainly not expecting to find a puppy there.

“There’s that frustration. There’s that anger,” Coen told KMBC News. “Whether intentionally or accidentally and whoever was in charge of him, up to that point and responsible for him, didn’t take care of him.”

After he found him, Officer Coen brought the puppy to an animal shelter, where veterinarians at Blue Springs Animal Hospital then took him in to treat him and save his life.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how badly my heart hurts knowing what this puppy went through over the last few weeks,” Mission Driven wrote on Facebook. “We are guessing he hasn’t been able to walk for quite some time and the pain had to be excruciating, due to the burns all over his body.”

Thankfully he survived, but he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

They decided to call him ‘Incredible Journey,’ since that’s exactly what Officer Coen believes he will have.

“They named him “Incredible Journey,” because it’s going to take a very long one to get him back to health, but I’m positive the story will have a happy ending,” Mission Driven wrote.

The lower half of his body is completely covered in burns, and he will need several operations in the future.

Once he undergoes surgery, he will live in a foster home until he’s ready to be adopted.
