Camera captures the moment dog realizes his family is leaving him at the shelter

A shelter dog who was featured in a heartbreaking video that went viral has found a forever home thanks to a group of dedicated rescuers. The fear and confusion on the face of the Pit Bull named Electra touched hearts around the globe. Electra’s sad eyes, flattened ears and downward expression made it crystal clear she was just realizing she was somewhere far from where she wanted to be.

She was left at Pomona’s Inland Valley Humane Society in California when Lolys Menchaka, a volunteer animal rescuer, spotted her and took the video and photo.

“Electra represents the face of sadness and reality in the shelters,” Lolys wrote on Facebook. “Sometimes I would like to understand owners surrendering their animals and I don’t like to judge them but when you see how the dogs come to the receiving department with their happy faces and they stand all proud I just can’t understand… (I’m speaking in general, not sure if she was found as stray or she was an owner surrendered.)”

Lolys hoped for Electra to have a happy ending, as so few Pit Bulls do in shelters. And it looks like she will be getting one! When Tiffany Tan of JL Animal rescue heard news of Electra she ran down to the pound and got her. And Electra now has a forever family. Tan told news.com.au, “I’ve gone over every day to check on her, I had to check her temperament. She’s an amazing dog, she’s not the same dog we took out of a shelter. She’s so snuggly, she just wants to snuggle you.”

    Beware of such people who would leave their forever pet at a shelter can also leave their own kids or betray anyone…..very few people do it as they get bankrupt or dying but most do it as they are just those bloody betrayers who keep pets just for a status symbol or style or by looking at someone else with a pet…stricter laws should be in place when someone comes purchases a pet that can lower down such cases…

    Don’t get a dog if you are not ready for the long term of devotion. Having a pet is like having a kid you just can’t take off anytime you want when you go on vacations plan on taking your pet with ya just like you would take your kid.puppies need a lot of your time and you just don’t get rid of them for chewing on things and tearing up dog beds because it’s gonna happen so if you are not committed don’t get the dog because you are not doing it a favor If you get one and then decide they are to much.if you don’t have patience and a lot of love don’t get a dog.i can’t stand seeing people getting rid of thier dogs because they are to much to handle or it costs to much money.AND STOP ALL THE BREEDING THERE ARE PLENTY OF DOGS OUT THETE THAT NEED A HOME

    I cry thousands of tears every day over the atrocities animals are made to endure!

    It has reached epidemic proportions… Ever day numerous examples or abuse, torture, maiming, killing and abandoning animals.

    The law needs to change or be strengthened in support of these animals!

    A contract needs to be signed on the acquisition of a pet that stipulates an agreement to care for the animal for life, unless the animal or the person is sick.

    The contract needs to be legally binding.

    If the contract is broken, the law should make the person accountable.
    Fines, time in prison, payment of vet fees, accommodation and upkeep until if the animal needs to be re-homed.

    Let’s make our pets safe!

    WTF! This makes me so angry and very upset, sad. My dog is my child as far as I’m concerned, I stress when we leave her at a truly wonderful pet resort where she enjoys herself and knows we’re coming back! I always worry about her well being comfort, always.
