‘Code Red’ Shelter Dog Still Wears Christmas Sweater & Has No Place To Call Home

While Christmas is officially over, the holiday sadly lingers for one dog named Bobby. Bobby was surrendered by the only family he had ever known and loved.

When they dropped him off at Miami-Dade Animal Services, they even took his leash and collar with them, leaving him with nothing but a broken heart.

As the holidays approached, the shelter staff gave Bobby a doggy Christmas sweater hoping it would draw potential adopters in. Bobby needed a home immediately.

He was a Code Red. Meaning he was at the top of the list to be put down if he didn’t find a home fast.

The staff took a photo of Bobby in his sweater and put it on their social media page. The crazy thing was, that photo certainly made its rounds, even ending up on the news. But Bobby still didn’t find a home. How could this be?

Christmas came and went and Bobby remained. Still at the shelter, still a Code Red. The volunteers were heartbroken as the days ticked by.

It was only a matter of time until he was brought back to the scary room no dog ever wanted to end up in.

Bobby wasn’t just depressed at this point, he had totally shut down.
