Bear Wants The Brownies That Woman Is Baking And Comes Knocking At Her Door

A woman was baking brownies in her kitchen when she was visited by an unexpected guest trying to get a sample of her cooking – a young black bear. The bear was not only on her porch, he was peering through the glass and trying to get in to her home!

The bear was very determined to get at the brownies, and at one point, climbed onto the porch railing to get a closer look inside. He also opened one of her screen doors, but luckily was not able to open the glass sliding door.

Naturally, the Connecticut woman was alarmed by the unwanted guest trying to intrude on her baking and was able to reach her neighbor, Bob Belfiore, to ask for his help to scare the bear away.

“Though it looks cute on the railing, this bear was angry about not being able to get at the food,” Belfiore said of the photos now spreading on social media. In fact, the bear was so frustrated in his attempts to get at the brownies that he tried to get in the other ways.

“He actually left the kitchen area and went to the second set of doors off the deck,” Belfiore told WFSB. “And tried those and then went to the third set of doors into the living room and attempted to get into those.”

Other neighbors were alerted to the bear and called police, who came to investigate, but the bear, frustrated in his efforts, had left by the time they arrived.

Wildlife officials were also called to the scene and given the account of the over-eager bear. They said they will monitor his activities.

Hopefully, the bear will not attempt any future house visits, both for the safety of residents and his own. But his efforts are a reminder that if you live in an area with bears, it’s best to get bear-proof bins for garbage and take precautions to keep them away from your home.
