When Nosey was first adopted, he preferred to keep to himself. Independent and a little standoffish, he didn’t seem interested in companionship — until his mom decided to bring home Baby.
That one decision changed everything.
From the moment Baby joined the family about a year and a half ago, the two cats became inseparable. “They are legit BEST FRIENDS,” their mom, Rosa Leger, told The Dodo. “They cuddle all day and play-fight 24/7.”
Nosey, once withdrawn and occasionally aggressive, softened. Baby brought warmth and play into his life. “He’s super protective over [Baby] and is always bathing him,” Leger said. “This baby has brought sunshine into his life.”
Recently, Leger had to leave town for a week — the first extended time away from her cats. Though a pet sitter checked in daily, both cats were too shy to come out, especially Baby, who’s deeply attached to his mom.
Leger worried about how Baby would cope — but it turns out, Nosey had everything under control.
While checking her pet cam one day, Leger saw Baby sitting in front of Nosey, clearly anxious. Then, in the most tender moment, Baby leaned into his big brother — and Nosey gently wrapped a paw around him.
The silent comfort was all Baby needed.
“He’s comforted his brother from the beginning,” Leger said. “But this experience really brought them even closer.”
That moment confirmed what Leger already sensed: the love between these two cats runs deep. “I honestly didn’t think this kind of love could exist between animals,” she said. “But it truly does.”
When Leger returned home, the reunion was filled with joy — but she knew now, more than ever, that no matter what, Baby and Nosey will always be there for each other.
