    not to mention the combined health issues of the 2 breeds that nobody is screening. yikes. as mentioned above, “hybrid vigor” does NOT occur in dogs because dogs, no matter the breed, are the same species.

    Brad Reid that’s absolutely false. sometimes you get lucky but you might get 2 breeds that have the same issue. and nobody is health testing in these accidental/BYB breeding a so really it’s a crapshoot.

    “hybrid vigor” does not exist in dogs. all dogs are the same species. no responsible breeder breeds closely anymore, and health testing exists for many common issues within each breed, not to mention an experienced breeders knowledge of their lines. I’d bet any money that no random crossbreed has had health testing done.

    I totally get the font breed get a shelter dog. However using the same logic, people should stop breeding and take in a foster child or adopt instead of trying to create cute smaller versions of themselves….let the attacks begin
