  1. They are all different. She HATES my son-in-law and I can personally guarantee he’s never said or done anything to her. There’s a history of “something”; we may never know. I have always had labs or beagles. I think part of her behavior may be due to being hyper-sensitive, alert. My male labs were never that way. They were so laid back they were all but laid down, smile. Whatever, I am terminally ill. I got this dog because (1) she was the ONLY one out of nearly 40 not making a sound that day: I wanted to try to live her out of her fright and depression and (2) so my g’daughter would have “someone” to help her transition from me being here to me not being here. I am amazed nearly every day at newly discovered commands or dire toons I give her that she understands. Even as scared as she was when I first got her, she would let the 6-year old put clip-on earrings on her ears, necklaces around her neck and tu-tus on her. I know it’s just me, but I am personally convinced our paths crossed for a reason. I am just as convinced that with only a a little horse sense (common sense) any dog lover can have a loving, appreciative, loyal friend in a lab. They said black dogs were hard to get rid of…She had been there quite a while. If true I’m glad she was waiting for me. My daughter has two rescue dogs: neither are labs. But we know their lives are much better with us than they were before. All Livingston owners have my gratitude, but I do feel just a tiny bit extra for lab lovers.
