Just as in people, obesity in dogs is associated with various health problems such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, osteoarthritis, cardiopulmonary disease, hypertension and various types of neoplasia such as mammary cancer and transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.

Oh my goodness ,we should be responsible for our Labradors weight,it’s unfair to let them overeat, this puts weight on their joints hence a lame dog =more weight added.we have owned bred Labs all my life ,I’m seventy odd now so I do know a bit about our faithful friends. They will eat till they burst it’s our duty to monitor their food.

If they are obese they are not healthy. Diabetes and other health problems will arrive if the dog’s diet isn’t healthy. No different than people.
