35 Healthiest Human Foods You Can Feed Your Dog (And The 12 That Could Kill Your Dog)

Ever wonder what foods you can safely give to your beloved dogs besides the boring “dog food” you feed them everyday?

Most pet experts agree that giving your dog “human” is not advisable. Sharing our processed, high-in-sugar-and-fat-foods with our pets could lead to them developing serious health issues.

But are there any other foods that we eat that you can give them to spice up their meals?

  1. I LOVE the picture! I feed my Boston “people” food, but she also gets canned and dry dog food here and there. Sometimes it’s mixed, sometimes not. I have VERY healthy dogs (also have a Jack Russell). Their weight is ideal, and they have no physical ailments that I am aware of at this point. Boston is 5, JR is 6. Dogs should have plenty of protein in their diets, so extra meat (lean) is very good for them. A little bit of veggies, and they’re good to go. I don’t want to feed them people food exclusively (I’d be creating monsters), but it is good for them to have some of the stuff we eat. Talk to your vet if you are thinking about it.

  2. Our 13 yr old Boston was diagnosed with renal disease and I have started cooking brown rice, chicken, peas and carrots
She gets apples and shaved baby carrots as a treat. Your vet can recommend recipes for your puppies.
