The answer to the question “Why the Labrador Retriever?” too often seems to be “Why not!”

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

Since there are literally millions of happy Labrador lovers around the world, why shouldn’t everyone love a Lab?

Given the breed’s good looks, trainability, loyalty, intelligence, etc., why isn’t this the dog for everyone on the planet who loves dogs?!

    Spencer & Emma …. two of the best dogs ever !! they both went to rainbow bridge one year apart. My heart can’t handle another one or two because they don’t stay with us long enough & by the way … they were the best dogs to live with !!

    We have had our yellow lab for over 10 years now. 23 reasons why I THINK she is my coolest/smartest dog I have Fathered to date amongst 5 other breeds. 1- Very loving. 2- Intuitive(I will repeat this one throughout list) 3– Knows when to protect. 4- Great with kids. 5- Plays nice with other dogs. 6- Great swimmer. 7- Great at fetch and dropping item. 8- Tilts her head with ruffled cheeks to everything I say to her 🙂 9- Still lays on her back when she sleeps. 10- Understands disabilities with other dogs or kids(gentle). 11- Loves car rides and fun at drive thrus. 12. Great off her leash in open fields. 13- Can grab a can of beer or pop and deliver to me. 14- Helps with weeding 😉 15- Great with commands. 16- If she really wants us to stay home and has opportunity will hide a sock, shoe, etc. 17- Waits for her younger sister to eat first. 18- Will alert us if younger sister is sick or getting into trouble. 19- Does not leave my kids sides whenever they have been sick or if she senses danger. 20- If you have a bad day, she gives you space, yet is near enough to relax you. 21- Let’s us sleep in on weekends, thank God!! 22- Very good with her hygiene. 23- Beautiful features. I could go on.
