20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. #20 is one of the hardest, saddest things I’ve ever done and will do again, but so very important. How could I ever leave any of my babies at the end when they need me the most. I always try so hard not to cry so I don’t scare them or make them anxious but it’s hard not to cry. Unconditional love.

  2. My Mia went of the Rainbow Bridge July 29th, 2015, would’ve celebrated her 13th birthday October 21st……we were with her till the very end, singing our love you song and cuddling her……she stole my heart…..I miss her everyday

  3. I did that with my Mia….I took her in on a Monday and he told me it was time…as a people nurse I knew….the Vet talked to me about everything. Gabe me some pain medication and told me to take her home and enjoy our moments together but not to wait more than a few days….we Skyped my kids, so they could talk to her and tell her they loved her…we took her ice cream and gave her steak dinner. ….we did the sedation and our Vet let us spend time her and talk to her….we sang our special song I’ve been singing since I got her (at 11 months old)…..then when we were ready he came in…..the sedation made it easy for her…..I highly recommend it…..

  4. I also held my MaggieMae till she took her last breath, so hard to do and I still tear up over a Boxer. I will have another one when we get settled in our new permanent home where we won’t be traveling twice a year and having to lift them into the car and out. We aren’t young any more.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. I said goodbye to by schnauzer in August. She was almost 11 and fought diabetes. I just said goodbye to my lab last Thursday. She had just turned 10 and had a very aggressive cancer. I am in constant tears over both babies. I believe we will see our fur babies again. And I personally can’t wait! I miss those sloppy wet kisses every night!
