20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Lost him on June 26th 2015–and part of my heart went with him and yes I held him as he passed to the rainbow bridge and I miss him every day. He is not a boxer but still was loved so very much.

  2. Our 14 year old Tina died in the hospital during the night before she was scheduled for exploratory surgery to see what was in her intestinal tract which turned out to be an apricot seed.
I only wish that we could have been there to hold her till the end.

  3. That is one of the hardest things to do. Being with them to the end, as hard as it is for us, is less frightening for them. My pup put his paw on my arm, he was comforting ME.

  5. This is Burger King Jr. Whopper and he is 10 or 11 and we got about a year or so left with him as it is hard for him to get around but that’s my baby boi, I remember it taking his momma 4 hours to have him , he came out and I was like omg he is a whopper lol ( that’s how he got his name)

  6. I held our sweet Oliver as the vet helped him take his journey to rainbow bridge. I was NOT going to let him leave on a cold steel table but instead in my arms. I bawled and bawled (tears swelling now) but I would do it again if I had to. I have been told before, when having to make this very difficult decision, if they leave peaceful and quickly, then they were at peace. I hold to that as this still cuts my heart. I love you my baby boy and miss you daily!!

  7. I’m there with you Sandra. I lost two of mine last year. They were old. 13 year old Chihuahuas. I have another that is 15 (will be 16 if he makes to June) He is blind and partially deaf as well. He still gets around despite his disability but I know his days are numbered with us. We just give the best lives that they can have.
