Dogs are family, and Schnauzers are no exception.

These adorable dogs with close wiry coats and heavy whiskers around the muzzle were originally bred to be ratters, guard dogs and all-purpose dogs on German farms.

Their versatility, protective nature, and love of family make them an excellent companion dog breed.

The schnauzer type consists of three breeds: the giant, standard, and miniature. With all of his innate skills and exceptional good looks, is it any wonder breeders felt one size was not enough?

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Schnauzers are no exception!

    Our beloved schnauzer, Winston, passed on in his sleep at Camp Bow Wow, who handled the situation with care and understanding. We were in Georgia at the time and next day drove 14 hours straight to NYState to put our little friend in the back yard – miss him to this day. In compensation, we have a schnoodle and a maltipoo now that was a street rescue in 2009.

    I would to have a Schnauzer they would be so much company for me. Life is lonely without Jack and our precious SADIE. We both missed her alot. Then my husband passed away FEB.2015 life is tough.n

    #7 & 8 for my rescues especially, #14 is a must, #19 is also a must, and #20 well I have the vet come to our home – where they we are and were our happiest for that one… but that’s a long ways off I pray.

    When my last Schnauzer needed to pass, I went to the vet knowing it was the last ride for Bandit.So I get to the office and ask the Dr. To give my best friend his shot and leave the room for 10 minutes, I held Bandit my 15 year old friend, while the meds did their job, this still hurts typing this, but he died in my arms, while I kissed him, and told him he was my buddy and that I loved him, I will do this again regardless of the pain because He deserved it, I dont regret one second of that day, the day my best buddy left us in body not Spirit!!
