20 Things All Rottweiler Owners Must Never Forget

The AKC Standard describes the Rottweiler as “a calm, confident, and courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships.”

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Rottweilers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Rottweiler owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Rottweiler owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I’ve lost 8 rotties and I’m on my 9th! I would never let them pass without my being by their side but I understand that not everyone can do that. I’ve volunteered to make that final trip with my friends pets if they can’t–someone needs to be there to tell them how much they were loved! They are definitely individuals but I have never had, out of 9, a digger or a chewer-and he loves puppies of all breeds and helps me raise litters, teaching them things so patiently-and he was the hardest to train as a pup. Guess the patience paid off! My Alex and the previous rottie are so tuned in to me that they are my medical detecting dogs-just one more wonderful quality!

  2. I don’t think you’re baby was replaced-you just made room in your heart for another love! Mine has known when I need surgery and when I had a problem after surgery-they are amazing!

I guess u have to spell it out for some people but seriously, that did not bring any new information to me! My Boy is 5 going on 6…. Every moment is precious and we are about to have our first child. I know my boy will be a great big brother and a great protector of our new addition. I trust him with my life and I will always make sure he knows how much we love him! Just think it’s obvious, maybe that’s just me.

  5. So sorry David to hear. I am a new momma to my baby, Emma, just had her 1st birthday last week. New to this site also, first time tonight. I love my animals- they are my kids. I have had to be with 2 cats crossing over the rainbow bridge, due to heart issue & kidney failure. It is not easy. I will lift you up in prayer.
