20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I would like to think this would go for every dog,cat or what ever. My fur kids are here for ever. They ARE my family. Not trash to dump on the side of the road when I have no use for them anymore.

  2. “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

That’s absolutely beautiful. That really gets you thinking about how we should live our lives.

  3. I had to say goodbye to my much loved Molly my chocolate lab on June 21st this year. Late at night she had collapsed, and her vet came to my home, and it took place with such dignity, three of us with her. But oh how I miss her, but so thankful of all those years of friendship and love shared.
I would love to rehome another lab, but at 80 years and waiting for a hip replacement not possible now.
To all lab owners, carry on enjoying you lovely dogs.

  4. So sad isn’t it? In an earlier post I mentioned my Molly a chocolate lab like yours. Although you know one day they will leave you, it is still hard. I hope you have many memories of times with her to look back on. Best wishes
