20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Yep 100%. Treat your dog the way you wanna be treated as person. They have feelings just like us. That’s why i enjoy so much with our pup. Teaching him new things and comfort him when he needs it.

  2. Labs are the greatest. Mine is a Guidedog for my boyfriend but she loves both of us. She is the apple of my eye & I thank god for her everyday. I’ve witnessed a lab get sick due to kidney failure before & I’ll probably lay with this little girl on her day hopefully far far far in the future. Here she is.

  3. We have Dexter our black Labrador. He is so kind and loves people. No good.for us if we had a break in
He would just wag his tail and.welcome them into our house!!
The dogs we have had have been our dog
But Dexter is my husband’s dog. I hear Bill talking to him as if he loves him so much. He talks to him like it should be to me
    No chance!!!

  4. This is our Bruin, he’s my third lab. He was born with dysplasia in all four. He had just had his first surgery we I lost my old man Irv. He was 16 and I laid beside him as he passed, the hardest thing I have ever done. We love our labs, cause they are our family.

  5. My boy Duke was put to sleep Friday after a week of not eating only little bits of food and breathing heavier than normal. He was diagnosed with lung cancer. …my heart was broken I layed with him and loved him to the very end. My Duke would have been 9 on Dec 9.
