One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.
Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

When our darling Sherry died , we took her to be cremated. My husband went in to say good bye first, then I went in. Her beautiful head was damp with his tears. We kept her ashes and now she is buried in with my husband’s. Sad, I know but I feel better they are together .

I was once in a vet’s office when a man came in with his two dogs, one of whom was a 16 year old black lab, whose time had come to cross the rainbow bridge. When the man came out of the examining room without his lab, he was crying. I wept with him. 🙁 So sad.

Lost my Emma in January and it was the hardest thing ever but I stayed by her side in the vets office til her last breath. Never leave them. Let them know how much they are loved. I will forever be grateful for what Em brought into my life and my families world because of her unconditional love.

We’ve had so many lab pets and they’re just the greatest. We now have a a 7 year old rescue who as without question adodpted us as her family and we love her. We’ll only have her for 5+ years at best, but thats fine, she’s so happy now and loves our cats. I just can’t say enough about this wonderful breed.

I’m always with my animals on their final journey. It’s an honor and a privilege for such a loving companion. I understand some people just can’t do it but I just can’t not to it.

Had to let my lovely boy go 3 weeks ago, hardest decision I’ve had to make, but know he is pain free now, and sure he’s found someone to throw the ball, until we meet again then I’ll take over, he did love playing ball, x

I truly broke when my Sofie passed at 14. I did everything for her, acupuncture, organic food that I made, taking her swimming the last summer though she could hardly walk. She was my heart. After a year in a half when the grief was still so overwhelming my husband and I got an adorable black lab. Of course I liked her who wouldn’t this adorable 8 week old funny puppy but no I didn’t love her. That took time and 2 years later I love Lacey. No she is not Sofie but I didn’t want Sofie back I wanted a puppy who was totally different and that is what I got. A silly, goffy, smart and beautiful black Lab that stole my heart again.
