20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Lab owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Labrador owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. We lost our sweet girl Jessie (chocolate) before Thanksgiving. I still shed tears for her everyday. Thankful we still have our crazy boy Max (yellow) to fill our days with love and laughter. #labsarethebest

  2. I lost a big part of my heart with Sam a awesome Lab and Mac a wonderful Hoverwart. Surely both died in my arms and I will give this love to James I hope in a lot of years ahead. I cant imagine a time without James because he is – since my daughter moved out – my only companion and I love him so very much.

  3. I have a 14 year old Chocolate Lab named Bailey and won’t have her much longer. I am already sad and still have her! She is my baby! I can imagine how you feel! So sorry for your loss!

  4. This day a month ago (Apr. 26), I lost my chocolate lab to lymphoma. She was 12. We were at the vet and I made the most painful decision I’ve ever had to make. And I hate myself for it in spite of everyone telling me that it is the right decision. Even though logically, I saw it, nothing about it felt right. I still cry every now and then. I converse with her ashes in a wooden box every day. I miss her very much. It sucks so badly that she’s not around anymore.
