20 Things All German Shepherd Owners Must Never Forget

With handsome good looks, the German Shepherd was an original canine movie star before the breed became popular police and military dogs.

One of the most capable and trainable breeds in all of dogdom, exceedingly eager to learn and work, a German Shepherd, when well-trained by a confident owner, is a magnificent companion.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, German Shepherds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all German Shepherd owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome German Shepherd owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. My shepherd pipes is from the local pound that was in quarantine for being vicous. Pound people have no clue about shepherds. Temperment test and a bit of training. One of the best dogs I’ve ever had. I have young children who argue whose dog she is.

  2. This post might not change anything but it might end up saving this sweet shepherds life ❤ my neighbour Mercedes (a high school girl from Nova Scotia Canada) has a German Shepherd that has a large tumour located on her leg. Mercedes started A GoFundMe me to help raise money for surgery to have the tumour removed. She started the GoFundMe about a month ago and I’ve shared it and shared it on my wall over and over again to get the word around. I would hate to see anything happen to the sweet sweet dog. Mischka the shepherd is this teenage girls best friend. This breaks my heart. I myself have a shepherd and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have enough money to help him. Below are some pictures of Mischka over the last month and a link to GoFundMe page. If any one can help this family and puppy please do❤ https://www.gofundme.com/support-Mischka?donornam

  3. Did you have him micro-chipped? Thats the best way to be notified if he is found roaming the streets. Check craigslist, a lot of stolen dogs are sold thru them. Go to all the animal shelters to see if he’s there, leave a description of your dog and how to get in touch w/You, in case he’s found. I hope you find.

  9. He is gorgeous. I have raised 4 and adopted two. Hooch the one I have now has only been in our family for a little over a month. He is almost 3years old and had absolutely no training at all. What a challenge. Now he hangs out with the rest of the family. You will be surprised on how quickly you bond with him. Treat him well, love him with all your heart and he will show you love and respect unlike any other dog.
