20 Things All German Shepherd Owners Must Never Forget

With handsome good looks, the German Shepherd was an original canine movie star before the breed became popular police and military dogs.

One of the most capable and trainable breeds in all of dogdom, exceedingly eager to learn and work, a German Shepherd, when well-trained by a confident owner, is a magnificent companion.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, German Shepherds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all German Shepherd owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome German Shepherd owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. My German shepherd is goin on eleven she has been the most loyal loving dog n cheeky all the reminders was spot on ,I love her so much and she loves me we are having few trips to vets at the min age related stuff but she still sleeps on settee n bed were she always slept my baby xx

  2. That last one has me close to tears. :'( I’ve just been reminded how much I loved both German Shepherds that we had (Thor and Ra) and how much I miss them both, in particular the last one…Ra.

Going with him for that “final journey” was almost unbearably painful and both mum and I cried so much that night at the emergency vet.

Of course, 5 months later, we lost my father too….that was 2013 and it is a wound that just won’t heal. 🙁

Mum and I have an English Springer Spaniel now, who we both adore, and all of these things could apply just as much to him, as to our GSDs.

He’s awesome, but he cannot stop us missing Ra….nor do we expect him to. He is our beloved pet, just as much as the others were.

  3. We had to put Gunner down after 8 short years. Seizures were takin it’s toll on him and it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. Not a day goes by he isn’t talked about or thought of. Rest in peace “poopy doog”

  4. The final journey’s the worst, but, there could be no other way!! They give of themselves EVERYDAY and deserve the same!! Our three buddies got us through so much, I hope we have done the same!❤️❤️❤️❤️
