20 Things All English Bulldog Owners Must Never Forget

Despite his gloomy mug, the English Bulldog is one of the most amiable of all breeds. Some English Bulldogs are friendly with strangers, while others are politely reserved.

Though stubborn, the English Bulldog is surprisingly sensitive, remembers what he learns, and responds well to patient, persistent training that utilizes food motivation. Jerking this breed around accomplishes absolutely nothing.

  1. Yuns are making me tear up. I just got my first bully about 7-8 months ago and Spunky is an anti-depressant for me. Seeing her interact with kids for the first time melted me. I fell in love with the breed instantly.

  2. All I read and hear about are how lazy and loving Bulldogs are. But for some reason mine seems like he has A.D.D. Never chills, humps everything, chews on everything, but is very smart. Seems like he does it to piss us off. Lol.

Anybody else have a hyper bulldog. (1 1/2 years old.)

  3. As long as you spend 99% of your time with them, they are the best. Really, read the article on 20 things about bulldogs that was just posted for this thread. Some dogs can be hyper. See your vet. Meds may be needed.

  4. Yeah I seen it. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. Walks, tugs, everything. He’s just not a mellow dog. I keep hearing wait till he gets older. I can only hope so. But don’t get me wrong. He’s very smart. Follows commands. But just sometimes feels like he does it to piss me off. Lol

  5. Mr’Sir Cornelius they are as stubborn as can be. Never let him stare you down. Make the eye contact when he is acting nuts and you stare him down. Believe me, all they want is hugs but try seeing a vet. Don’t forget to train him with small treats. Read the labels. A lot of treats etc are coming from Asia and not regulated. In England they are known as little old lady’s dogs. That is their temperament. But they do look tough and that is why they are great for lazy guys looking for babes.

  6. Mr’Sir Cornelius Hey. Last idea. Make sure to neuter him. That makes a world of difference. You will cancel your first vet appointment. All guys do. Have your wife take him for the next appointment .

  7. We got ours at 3 years old or they say she was.. She was kennel kept. She hates grass. I’ve tried to let her like grass. She wont!! She is like 5 now. What do i do
