20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Mary Beck Chapman, thank you. As painful as this loss is, there is a silver lining.

I had over 13 years with Oscar. I has 13 years of pure love and his unbridled joy.

I’m really lucky to have had him for the years I did.

  2. Rhonda… our little Diesel went down with IVDD but made a full recovery after 6 weeks crate rest. 2 vets advised us to have him put to sleep but were so glad we didn’t listen to them and went to see a specialist as its now 2 years later and he is happier and healthier than ever. Please try not to lose hope. Google a site called Dodger’s List. It has so much great advice for IVDD ❤

  3. This broke my heart 🙁 our family Doxie just passed away this last friday…I wish I could have done more for her. I wish we could have been by her side at her last moments 🙁 I love and miss her so

  4. Me, and the first love of my life, in her last few moments. My broken heart aches every day. I am sending happy thoughts and love to everyone that is feeling this pain too. Hugs to all.
