20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I had 3 doxies. One them passed last year. I still have 2 left. I can’t imagine losing Baby who is the mother of the other 2. She rarely wanders far from my side. She’s 14 and in good health so I pray she can live to as old as dachshunds get.

  2. As his human, you gave him the best life possible. You loved him 16 years. What an amazing story and life he had with you. When they go it is so sad, but I know Mr Sierra is waiting for me, getting ready to jump into my arms!

  3. Guys, my dachshund loves to play bite. And sometimes it’s too hard. I have bruises all over my forearm from when she tries to chomp the skin and then ends up nipping. How do I get her to stop? Thanks

  4. This is Winston. Friday is his adoption anniversary and he has been such a blessing in me and my girlfriends life. He has a rough past and it took some adjusting but he is now the most loving dog ever. He motivated me to create canineloveco.com where I have committed to donating $1 per product sold to the feature organization of the month. If you know of a great dachshund charity please visit my website and submit the charity to be featured so that we ca help raise some money for them!
