20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Every word rings the bells of life with our dogs and yes the last one made me cry ive done it once and will do it again with my boy because i dont want him to ever be alone

  2. These comments are so hard to read. My doxie Hera is alone, we had to put her sister Hailey to sleep just a month ago, she was 18, and her long life still wasn’t long enough. A majority of my life she was there, makes me treasure every moment with Hera that much more.

  3. I loved my long haired Dachshund soooo much and so did both my girls who had hours of life experiences with our little Dougal. I was with him, held him in my arms at his passing. A moment I will treasure and never forget. He was such a part of our lives.

  4. Love my little girl and all these points are typical of our lives . My girl is 14 and a half and just can’t imagine life without her.no 20 will definitely be the hardest but I will be with her till the end

  5. Oh my gosh, we took care of my father inlaws dog (Oscar) and picture #20, I said hey, ITS OSCAR, then I read it and started to cry because we had to put Oscar down. I have a photo of Oscar iddentical to #20. Thoughts of you Oscar! Love your family.
