20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I’ve had my Tucker since he was 10 days old. He was the only one born, no litter mates, and his mama wouldn’t feed him. I bottle fed him every two hours around the clock and took him everywhere in his heated kennel. He is spoiled rotten and I love him more than any pet I’ve ever had. He’s 8 years old now.

  2. We lost are boy dachshund in DEC 2014 his name was prince he was 9 year old we miss him a lot . i got my dad a new dachshund puppy for Valentines Day is is a little girl she is 7 weeks old her name is mollymay

  3. I just had to let my Lola go because of cancer and I really don’t appreciate the 20th post… I couldn’t bare to see her go and my vet thought for me it wouldn’t be best. I want to remember the last kiss with her big brown eyes staring up at me, not her lying on a cold table. She had the best life, the best care, and even in death she got the best that money could buy. I do not and will not feel guilty about the decision made that was best for me and my family.
