20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

  1. I can’t explain the joy of having a daschund. I love my Sophie. She is the best dog I have ever had. I wish I could clone her. I will always have a doxie…. she is loyal and faithful.very loving little girl.

  2. Reading the comments makes me feel so lucky my Freeway is doing so well at 14. I can never stay upset with him, our walks are a highlight of my day, and he is such a sweet boy!

  3. Cried thru all them. Our beloved Abby crossed the Bridge on Dec 5 th. We still have 7 long haireds with us ranging from 4 years to 19 years old. Everyone of them, including the 2 wheel cart boys are our fur kids and loved much.

  4. Love the very end after #20 —– “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

    – Spoken by a 6 year old boy who had just lost his family’s 10 year old, Belker, to cancer.
