20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Oh my word, I’m just reading the comments and I’m tearing up. Am not going to read the post now… I also have a Doxie, Miss June and out of the 4 (3 chihuahuas) she is my favorite. Personality plus…. But don’t tell the other kids…lol

  2. Our dachsies were the loves of our lives, and we went through all of the 20 stages. And, when it came to 20, we were there for them after their lifetime of devotion to us. We will never get over it, and think of them every day, but we would never have let them be alone. Those of you who still have your dachsies, love them and cosset them, they are with us for such a short time. Twelve and a half years and fifteen and a half years, in our case, but are darling girls still went too soon.

  3. Words can never express how much joy my Rudy boy has brought to my life he is 14 now and I hate to think of the day I come home and he is not there … Best investment I ever made … Love you Rudy ..

  4. Hope a very long life to them, because they are simply love and I don’t know how to live without them.
