Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.
The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

I have been through #20 twice with both being doxies. . I was not able to hold my first guy because he went to my closet and passed. . The next gut I was able to be with him which was a blessing for both if us. . I knew he felt safe somehow.

My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your son and Sassy.
There are truly no words of comfort because I do know the pain of losing a child.
Take care.

My little 15 year old girl has canine cognitive disorder and doesn’t like to be petted anymore. She used to be my snuggle girl and now is a loner.

6/14/14 we celebrated Chunky’s 8th birthday and the very next day he killed my 25 yr old African Grey. I was devastated…my fault…not his…he is a foster failure who I’ve had for 5 years now…he is one in a million and has the biggest piece of my heart over 4 other dogs!
