20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. It is very touching to see the love and compassion for your pets… If only we had the same compassion for our brothers and sisters that are homeless. How many of us walk by each day when a homeless person reaches out their hand for help? Do you have compassion then? Please don’t get mad… I’m only speaking to waken you out of the sleep. Challenge your thoughts and actions.

  2. We lost our Dottie when she was 14 years old. She was on medicine for an enlarged heart for over two years. But I always knew she had an enlarged heart. She was my shadow. No matter where I went she was always right behind me. When she passed away a lot of me did too. Love you and miss you baby girl.

  3. We love our Preshie (Her name is Precious but we call her Preshie too) more than anything. She is our little fur baby. She’s a mini, short hair red headed Dashie, absolutely beautiful pup & she’s so smart and love able. Honestly, I don’t think any dog gets as much love & attention as ours bc it’s literally 24/7 lol. Dashies are the best dogs ever!!!

  4. Unfortunately most of these homeless people are scamming. Alot are mentality unstable and only a very few are truly homeless but they get help and not hold out there hands on street corners for money and there is so much help out there for people and laws to protect them. But there’s next to nothing help or laws for animals to protect them or help them except the pound and death.

  5. Ronan Susan thank you for you opinion… I don’t believe we should judge them as we haven’t been in their shoes. Who knows what they’ve been through . The point is about a compassionate heart. Not about what’s out there for them to reach out to. At that very moment they are reach out to you if you see them. How do you react? Justification that some one else should help them instead? If we all thought that way no one would help because we all think there is always someone else.

Now I’m not say I know your situation …. I’m only pointing out the compassion is not there anymore. Next time you’re at a light and you see a homeless person … Watch and see how many don’t even look at him/her. It’s just a challenge not something you have to do but a little soul searching is good especially in a world like this .
