20 Things All Cocker Spaniel Owners Must Never Forget

The Cocker Spaniel is primarily a beloved companion dog breed, though he remains a capable bird dog at heart.

Beautiful to look at (and labor-intensive to groom), the Cocker’s amenable, cheerful disposition also makes him a treat to have in the family.

Never more pleased than when he’s pleasing you, he’s as happy to snuggle on the couch with his favorite adults as to romp in the yard with the kids.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Cocker Spaniels are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Cocker Spaniel owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Cocker Spaniel owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Jeannine Locke OReilly recently was scheduled for “cherry eye” surgery and then they noted that the bump on his face could be cancerous. We decided to wait but I’m pretty sure the vision in that eye is not 100%. It breaks my heart.

  2. Oh sweetie I know how you feel. We had to say good bye to our baby 10 yrs ago and he just turned 15. We got him when he was 10 weeks old. It still makes me cry when I see another cocker spaniel.

  3. Alicia Stacy Kitts…I was just thinking about your pup and one thing you can try is the canna-pet oil. Its amazing for pain, cancer & it also will increase appetite. I’ve used it on both my dogs at the suggestion of our holistic vet. Also good for anxiety. I’ll give you the link and you can read about it. They have specials all the time. The bottles (liquid) lasted a while for me. I had one that wouldn’t eat and it did increase his appetite a lot. Hope this helps.

  4. Our first ever dog is a cocker. He’s a rescue little boy. And we love him so very very much. How anyone could give him up,I don’t know. But I do know I will never let him go. I will love him as he loves me, and my family,it’s called eternal love. I thank God we have him in our lives. He makes a heaven here on earth.
