Boxers are silly, sweet and mischievous. They clown around with family and friends, are patient and playful with children, but show a deliberate and wary face to strangers, responding with unmatched courage to anything that threatens their loved ones. Those characteristics are why people love them.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Boxers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Boxer owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Boxer owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Boxer Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

Ok, #2 is NOT true!! Allie (my nearly 12 year old Boxer) knows exactly what I’m talking about. She just sometimes chooses to ignore me and so what she wants. Like tonight while I was trying to make up the bed in our camper. She was ready for bed. When I told her to go lay down in the living room, back her ears went and up on the bed she jumped. If I tell her to do something she doesn’t want to, she turns her head away from me and ignores me. Still, I wouldn’t take anything for her. She’s my baby girl!

I also was with my boxer till his last breath. Before he left me he looked into my eyes as I was petting him and talking to him.I believe we made a connection with each other about what was gonna happen. He knew it but he made sure I at peace with what was gonna happen to him. As soon we accepted that he was leaving it happened. He was pal my buddy and my best friend. He was the best dog I ever had. I know he loved me cause he showed it all day every day. I really miss him so much.RIP Samson

This made me cry. It sounds so strange, but I love my boxer so much that I think I try to prepare myself for the pain when she is no longer with me. She is my shadow, she knows my every move. She’s sensitive and smart and LOYAL. The best friend I’ve ever had. I’ve never owned a boxer before but I will never own another kind of dog.

He was my first boxer and I never will own any other type of dog either don’t know if I want another one don’t know if I wanna go through it again. He died in my arms late April which was one of the most worst days ever.I know he loved me more than most of my family. And loyal to the extreme. It’s not the same around here with out him.I miss him greeting me at the door even if I was only gone for a few minutes. I think I have a great story about how I got him and how we connected all the way till he had to leave. I’m gonna fix up his grave cause he wasn’t just a dog he was like one of my kids.and I am thankful that I got the chance to own such an amazing partner he followed me everywhere. You would think that he would go and dog things but no all he wanted was to be with me till the end. I always told him he was gonna be my till then.and I held and hugged him and I’m not afraid to say it but I cried.tears still fall today when I think about him or even when I see the boxer pages. It brings a tear to my eyes as well as a smile when I think how awesome he was. There will never be another Samson.

You are correct Chris Schleff Jarko, I just read it and it is so very sweet and so very sad. Every word is also very BOXER. I need to write it down. By the way, the article about the boys is in this weeks Pacer. They never fail to disappoint me. Misspelled words and dark photos. I sent a photo I took of Mikey and Trey at school that was lighter and she chose the darker one. Oh well.
