They've been known to be great companion dogs that love to please the owners, despite the fact that they were bred for hunting and dog fighting purposes back in the 19th century.
During the war, they worked as messengers, but since have become popular as family pets. Although they are gentle with humans, they make great guard dogs as well.

He caught kennel at the dog park. Turns out he had a bad heart murmur, he had a bad reaction to the medication and went into heart failure. Only took five weeks and I had to let him go.
