My 10 year old beagle is still as fun loving as a puppy but my 11 year old beagle has arthritis in her left hip. My husband thought we should ” put her down” because she can no longer climb the stairs, or get on the chair, sofa or beds. No way! When she wants to do any of these things she just gives me that ” help me, mommy” look and I pick her up and put her on the bed, or carry her up the stairs, whatever she wants. Other than the arthritis she is a happy, loving dog and I love her too much to give up on her yet. As long as I can help her and keep her from being in pain, I am staying right by her side and doing whatever she needs .
