Very tongue in cheek (lol). They are very loving dogs and make wonderful pets. I do agree that they do shed quite a bit and the dog drool is something that goes with the territory if you are lucky enough to own one (or two) like we had.

I think somebody is having a major goof on basset hound owners. Our Miss Pitty Patt (11/20/03 – 7/30/16 and sorely missed) was the bestest dog ever! She loved to cuddle in her daddy’s lap when she was a puppy and she’d snuggle with our male kitty – they’d spoon: he’d curl up with his back to her belly and they’d snooze away the afternoons. She became a total bed hog when she got older and would climb her bed stairs and curl up behind my knees and proceed to hip check me to move over and give her room. What a loving, silly, clown she was and God I miss her so much.

Mine hardly ever barked unless we were playing. She was amazing with our kids. Scared of puppies, and loved unconditionally. She lived 13 beautiful years as part of our family. We miss her dearly every day.
