Dog Spent 5 Years Living In Dilapidated Car Before Owner Finally Got Her Help

Mousey is one of 19 dogs who were rescued from deplorable living conditions on a property in rural New Mexico.

The poor dogs had been neglected and living on chains for five years. Some of them were living in a rundown car, while others were in makeshift pens. Most of them were forced to stand and lie in their own waste.

Thankfully, the dogs were rescued by N.M. Dog, a nonprofit that rescues chained and abused dogs all throughout New Mexico.

Although New Mexico has laws to prevent situations like this from occurring, rural jurisdictions do not always have proper resources to enforce the laws.

Angela Stell, founder of N.M Dog, says that the owner of the dogs is the one who finally asked for help and felt very remorseful. She will not be facing charges.

The dogs are now receiving proper medical care and will all be available for adoption and get a beautiful second chance at life.
