Typically steadfast, sensible, and serious (though some are happy-go-lucky clowns!), the Rottweiler tends to respond quietly and with a wait-and-see attitude to influences in his environment.
This muscular dog needs some space and exercise: brisk daily walks, interactive romping sessions, and regular opportunities to stretch out and run. Mental exercise (advanced obedience, agility, retrieving a ball, Schutzhund) is even more important and appreciated.
Most Rottweilers are inclined toward dominance and will test for position in the family pecking order, but they will respect an assertive owner who knows how to lead a strong-minded dog.
Overall, the Rottweiler is a splendid, capable companion in the right hands, but without ongoing companionship, socialization, obedience training, and supervision, he is “too much dog” for many households.
If you are considering to own a rottweiler, or you’ve just become a new rottie owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.
Check out the twelve realities new rottweiler owners must accept on the next page! …and if you already are a rottie owner, see if you can relate!

13 anything your rotty thinks youre giving more attn to than him/her will be destroyed
14. will eat own dinner then demand half your dinner and still steal food from your plate when you get up for a drink and act all innocent
15. is selectively dumb and deaf but when wants something all of a sudden gets as smart as lassie
16. you arent kidding about 1 and 6 mine used to wake me up and demand blanket and i think she had a thing for the dog on swamp people Tyler. think she was attracted to his rugged out doorseyness. catchin gators and what not (she was a suburban girl) but she used to sit there all excited & wag her tail and once tried to jump into the tv (lucky i grabbed her collar)
17.they’ll be your best mate in this whole miserable world and when they die, you’ll be heartbroken

This article is true reality and spot on with this breed.. I can relate to # 3 4 6 and 9. This Rottie looks allot like my 10 month old Titan… # 3 is the absolute truth. My Boy is exceptionally loving wanting love & cuddles, play time and treats 24/7 lol . # 6 When we are relaxing watching TV him and his brother (litter mate ) always sits with us and watch’s too. There favorite being the nature shows with wolves… # 9 ” Oh those Rottie eyes You cant help but feel bad when they look at you wanting to go bye bye and you cant take them.” They pout while watching you leave only to see them in the window moments later wining and barking and throwing a fit. Then # 4 when you arrive back home then they are all wiggle butts happy to see you, just waiting for your love and treats and all is forgiven.. What Rottie parent can’t feel loved with those realities.. They are an absolute loyal breed that gives us much love, protection and years of companionship.
