Rottweilers are one of those breeds that have a ‘reputation', and the perception many people have of them isn't even close to the reality.

The Rottweiler is a robust, powerful, and loyal dog with strong protective instincts. They are outstanding companions and protectors.
Because of the Rottweiler’s size, strength, and protectiveness, owning a Rottweiler carries a great deal of responsibility and commitment.
Rottweiler's temperament vary from natural clowns, affectionate to almost everyone, to the very reserved one-man dog. Rottweilers are calm and alert companions.
Rottweilers often follow their masters around the house keeping a constant and sometimes obtrusive watch over their loved ones.
If you are considering to own a rottweiler, or you’ve just become a new rottie owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.
Check out the twelve realities new rottweiler owners must accept on the next page! …and if you already are a rottie owner, see if you can relate!

I was pretty ready for the Rotties. I know you have to think bigger and stronger, when comes to fences, kennels, pens, even water tubs. And you have to be the pack leader. I had a very driven big and protective Doberman years ago. That was a little hair raising at times. My big Dobe seemed to have his own agenda. He pretty much taught me the ropes about big protective smart potentially aggressive dogs. Rotties are a tad more cooperative and a little less sneaky. But But they are bigger and stronger.

I have always heard that the female Rotties were harder to train because they never want to give up the alpha dog position ! All 4 of ours have been boys. WE’RE the alpha dog ( mostly LOL )

Absolute truth! I can’t say enough good thing about this breed. I just lost my Rotty to cancer at the age of 7. Amd years before that lost one at the age of 14.I will never get over the loss of him. These dogs have such personalities and are so loyal. I will miss him for always .

Oh the “yeah right” stare is the worst. These dogs are the best. The soul in their eyes melts you every time. They have a sense of humor too but the stubbornness is unmatched.

Spot on! At 12 Rocco is the best dog we’ve got (we won’t tell his brothers) he was the easiest train, only wants to please, is smart as a whip, dedicated to family, watches listens amd reacts to television. Follows me like a shadow. Holds my heart!
