12 Realities New Pug Owners Must Accept

As many existing Pug owners will tell you, pugs are a lot like big dogs that are trapped in small bodies.

pug-cute-puppy-eyes.jpgThey love to run around, play, have fun and are won’t back down from a fight despite their small size.

Pugs are clever and energetic little guys that can be quite a handful. They love getting attention and will pull off crazy stunts just to get some laughs from their human friends.

They are great at reading human emotions and can use what they know for their benefit. These clever dogs will use whatever they can to their advantage and will take over your household if you let them.

Overall they are adorable little guys that would make amazing pets for the right owners.

If you are considering to own a pug, or you've just become a new pug owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.

  1. I don’t want another right now, currently have 3, gonna have to wait. But my next will either be a pug, beagle or some form of a hunting/hound dog..i also work at a doggy daycare, so social for any breed is good there 🙂 i agree, except again, with any breed, dogs are social creeatures, whether its jus you they like, or everyone, human or dog or both, they need every day socialization so they can be a normal dog and a good canine citizen.

  2. Our pug, Luna is growing up with a Staffie the same age as her and they are devoted to each other. She is very stubborn n will only “sit n give paw” if there is a treat involved, otherwise she will not do anything asked of her! She is the funniest, most entertaining dog ever, she has a wonderful bark n lets the neighbours know she has seen them every time she goes into the garden. She is totally fearless and never backs down when the staffie tries it on. Great dog but very cling, wouldn’t be without her though.
