The answer to the question “Why the Labrador Retriever?” too often seems to be “Why not!”
Since there are literally millions of happy Labrador lovers around the world, why shouldn’t everyone love a Lab?
Given the breed’s good looks, trainability, loyalty, intelligence, etc., why isn’t this the dog for everyone on the planet who loves dogs?!
Bringing a Labrador into your life is a very big decision. A decision you should only make after doing your own research on what you're getting yourself into and the commitments you need to make.
If you are considering to own a labrador, or you’ve just become a new labrador owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.
Check out the twelve realities new labrador owners must accept on the next page! …and if you already are a labrador owner, see if you can relate!

Ollie plays slide the frisbee! We have tile floors almost throughout the house and he will play what we call air hockey with it till he finally gets to a carpet edge and then picks it up andputs it in my lap so I can toss it so he can start all over!

Think it depends on the dogs personality. As long as they are happy, that’s the important thing. My big baby just cries if he is separated from us!

This is Taz. She passed 2 yrs ago at 16 yrs, still miss all my labs ( had 4 in total) sadly all passed, they are the most fantastic companion you could ever wish for. So loyal, loving, understanding and I’m sure part human. Once you get passed the puppy chewing stage which you have to expect with any puppy they are beautiful.
