The answer to the question “Why the Labrador Retriever?” too often seems to be “Why not!”
Since there are literally millions of happy Labrador lovers around the world, why shouldn’t everyone love a Lab?
Given the breed’s good looks, trainability, loyalty, intelligence, etc., why isn’t this the dog for everyone on the planet who loves dogs?!
Bringing a Labrador into your life is a very big decision. A decision you should only make after doing your own research on what you're getting yourself into and the commitments you need to make.
If you are considering to own a labrador, or you’ve just become a new labrador owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.
Check out the twelve realities new labrador owners must accept on the next page! …and if you already are a labrador owner, see if you can relate!

We have a child lock on the toilet seat lid now because our Ollie will lift the lid with his head to get to the water in the bowl….and baby gates were all the rage in my house until he got big enough to just jump over them ( we dont even have children…I now have 4 baby gates like new in the garage…guess I will save them for the next puppy….hint hint honey!!!!)

All true, but if you get a lab you must commit to play, play, play, train, and train, lots of energy, so if your looking for the laid back lab you friend has no guarantee, but after 2 years..laid back with a tennis ball obsession will be all yours. Most loyal, lovable dog ever! My girl completes me.
