The dog they have all chosen to represent their tough, tenacious characters. That dog? Why, it's the Bulldog, of course!

It descended from fighting mastiffs that were brought to the British Isles by the Romans and was used in a bloody sport called bullbaiting.

Today, however, the Bulldog only slightly resembles his ancestors in appearance. And all of the ferociousness that he exhibited in the bullbaiting pens? Gone for good.

Despite his still ferocious appearance, you'd be hard-pressed to find a dog with a sweeter, more loving disposition. They are friendly, social, calm, balanced, compassionate, stubborn, proud and persevering.

    Wow! The nerve of some people! Jessica Hutchinson Noyes. That was totally uncalled for! Everyone is just showing off their babies and you gotta butt in and try to turn attention toward you. Get over yourself. Just because your life sucks, doesn’t mean you have to try to make others miserable. Cheer up! Look at dog pictures and forget about being a bully. That’s what everyone else is doing.

    I’ve owned English Bulldogs for 23 years, I love them and they are my babies. Bulldogs are loveable, sweet, loyal, and a very addictive dog breed. Once you’ve owed one, you don’t want anything else. They are the greatest breed!!

    I helped care for a white boxer for about 4 months; he was a heartbreaker. Playful, utterly adoring and so intelligent. Between bullddogs, pits and boxers — who could choose really. Love them all.

    Jillian Sarkady through no fault they always seem to encourage a vets bill ……. Pups have to be fed properly top quality meat no rubbish and no matter what we did we always got up to a wet floor in the mornings but as I say the reward is the loyalty
