dachshundsDachshunds are irresistible, charming, impish, and headstrong. Once bred for hunting, the dachshund now occupies thousands of hearts.

If you're new to the world of dachshunds, the first question you have is probably about their short legs and long bodies. This feature makes them truly unique in the dog world.

They are also known as Sausage dogs, Weiner dogs, Doxies or Dashies… they are breed in two sizes, standard and miniature, in a wide range of colors and patterns.

  1. I grew up with Dachshunds. Although I’ve had other breeds since I married, none have stolen my heart like my Dachshund. She has my husband firmly wrapped around her dewclaw! No surprise there – he thought he didn’t want a Dachshund. Sadie changed his mind. 🙂

  2. My husband had mastif type dogs before we met. When his last one died he didn’t want any more dogs. Then he met us, my mini dachshunds Harley & Bailey & me, the package! Not sure who he was smitten with first though….lol. They’re our world, spinal issues and various health problem aside, they are the best wee dogs anyone could wish for.
