12 Realities New Chihuahua Owners Must Learn To Accept

Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs, absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed.

Other than that generalization, Chihuahuas are extremely variable. You can find individuals who are lively or placid. Bold or timid. Feisty or mellow. Confident or nervous. Stubborn or eager to please.

Chihuahuas do not have a particularly good reputation among the general public. Ask a few people, “Do you think Chihuahuas are nice little dogs?” and see how many of them exclaim, “No! They're nasty little things who bite!”

How a Chihuahua turns out depends mightily on the genetic temperament of his parents and grandparents. In other words, entire lines of Chihuahuas are social or antisocial.

If you are considering to own a Chihuahua, or you’ve just become a new Chihuahua owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.

  1. All these are true! But I think the way you raise them determines their disposition. Everyone that we have had in the past and the 2 we have now are nothing but love. Lap dogs, definitely. There is more love in those tiny little bodies that just wants to love on you. We have one named Sugar and one named Precious!

  2. My Chihuahua / jack Russell has really bad anger problems. Is that normal? She will be 5 soon. I socialized her when she was younger but anytime she sees anyone except for a few certain people and my other dog she goes terrorizerr on them. She even bites me sometimes. She can be sweet but most of the time she raises hell
