Once you go basset, you never go back. At least, that's the buzz on the internet. Basset Hounds are among the most pleasant-natured and easygoing of all breeds.

Basset Hounds are independent thinkers who don't particularly care about pleasing you. Most Basset Hounds are stubborn and can be manipulative. You must show them, through absolute consistency, that you mean what you say.

    We’ve had seven Basset Hounds over the past 40 years, and wouldn’t trade any one of them. At the present time we have Max and Brutis that were litter mates and they are 10 years. Can’t imagine what it will be without them.

    Ashford is a 4 1/2 yr old Basset/Catahoula mix. 99% of this is true for him,except he hates cars lol. He sleeps 23 and a half hours a day…and I am not entirely sure he is awake the other 30min while eating. Here he is claiming his bed!
