As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?
Nope. There's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.
There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

Your dog was lucky, my dog needed kept in at vets & tests done to see if any long term damage done, also know of dogs dying from eating toxic item over prolonged time & so it was gradual with very sad outcome, I personally wouldn’t knowingly play Russian roulette with my dog or child’s health or well being but agree showing a pic of a dog eating a healthy option is grossly misleading

Some cores may cause blockages. Don’t ever give corn (on the cob) as the cob itself doesn’t digest and will cause a blockage. Very painful process for the dog and usually they don’t survive 🙁

I don’t feed my dogs table scarps (which means no begging for it either) since I know there digestive system works differently than us humans but occasionally they do get a piece of raw potato, raw baby carrots, cottage cheese or even a slice of apple or a piece of banana. My rule of thumb is any fruit that has seeds is a no go and definitely no bones or anything seasoned like gravy or meat/bones.

Does that mean just because your dog did not die younger it is healthy for them? You can eat McDonalds for 20 years and you won’t die but is that really best for you?? No it is not, why would it be any different for your dog?

A slice of cheese is not gonna kill a dog. Mine get a slice of american cheese when we clip nails. I divide it up in 4 pieces and they get a small piece after each paw. It’s all about the amount of things they should not eat. A Hershey kiss won’t kill a dog either but even a whole bag might not be deadly but surely isn’t recommended. Stuff happens, we all know there are crazy dogs or silly puppies get into stuff they may shouldn’t.

My dog has James well beloved kibble and cooked chicken morning and night… her treats are carrots and other raw veg, she’s never liked regular dog food. . If I give her anything else her skin flares up, she’s 9 now but you would think she was a puppy. . I’m doing something right, I guess. .
