As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?
Nope. There's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.
There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

My vet uses cheese at a treat when my boxer gets shots. I also wrap his heartworm & flea pill in cheese for him to take. I will be asking about this when we go in next.

Dachshunds have a cast iron stomach. Pretty sure they could eat radioactive waste and the only side effect would be glow in the dark poo.

Jennifer, be careful about the onion. I always let my GSD have leftover chili or vegetable soup with cooked onion in it. I had to put her down last Christmas because of severe anemia. She was bleeding out, and vet said it was probably as a result of the long term onions in the scraps. I live with knowing I was probably responsible.

I also make home cooked food for my boxers. Meat, kidney beans, squash, carrots, & yams. They are the healthiest they’ve ever been.

Boxers have sensitive stomachs besides. They do well on limited ingredients…a lot of Comercial dog foods have nasty ingredients not fit for anyone. Grain free, all natural kibbles. I also give my 2 boiled chicken, plain Greek yogurt, sweet potatoes, frozen green beans, for a treat, frozen bananas, apples. They eat better than me <3
