  1. According to my vet, “dogs shouldn’t eat human food at all. Their pancreas isn’t made to process it. If for any reason you have to feed a dog human food it should only be veggies, or fat free cottage cheese”

  2. Hmm sorry I don’t necessarily agree with this article. My rat terrier was the runt and vets didn’t expect him to live m9re than a few years. We just celebrated his 11 birthday on the 9th of June and though he is losing his eye sight due to aging which is common for dogs over 10 years old, he is a perfectly healthy dog that amazes the entire vet clinic and vet hospital every time he goes in for his check ups. He’s even had emergency visits from gettin his sides ripped open 4 different times by 4 different larger breed dogs and still a hyper healthy active dog. I feed him cheese, ice cream, real bacon, and a few others for snacks treats or mix in with his homemade dog food and treats. My beagle is same way as many other past dogs I’ve had were. Past dogs all died peacefully in their sleep of old age. Only one dog I.had to give up which was my Mastiff due to living arrangements myself or I would still have her. You just have to use common sense know your dogs tolerances and keep on with their proper care, shots and so on. They are our family members too. It’s no different that raising a child who may or may not have allergies to certain foods, dyes ect. My dad had a pure Australian Shepherd who lived to be 110 years old dog years that he fed cheese, bacon, and peanut butter cookies on a daily basis from puppy to the end. He even helped himself to dads beer if dad fell asleep with an open beer next to him often. Vet always told us every dog and animal is different it’s how we care for them, love them and keep their medical care and shots current that kept them going. So you can all argue til your blue in the face or throw your professions around not every vet will agree with next vet on everything. But seriously is it worth getting into immature Internet drama, fights or arguments over. We aren’t in kindergarten anymore.
