As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?

Nope. There's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.

There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

    And…I should mention…long long before commercial dog food … our dogs ate what we ate…with no ill effects, table scraps, fruits, veggies and always table foods just like I ate…

    First of all bananas, shown, are fine. Secondly, all listed are toxic BUT the amounts that are needed for most are quite rediculous. Moderation is key. My dogs get bacon, cheese, milk once in awhile. Not a constant diet of it. As for grapes, my current dog likes seedless but I peel them and he’s 12. No problems at all. But again in moderation. Plus my other dog ate a whole box of chocolate covered cherries including papers and all she did was burp. She lived to be 16. Some shouldn’t be fed to dogs but if your furry friend happens to get some, don’t panic. If questions, call your vet. Misleading article. SMH!

    Most dogs can eat dairy. They can even eat it with meat because according to the Talmud, dogs don’t have to keep kosher.
    Ice cream is OK, too except maybe for the calories. Vanilla is a good choice.

    People should use common sense and not feed their dogs people food. There are many websites out there to tell you what they can eat and what can kill them. They should never eat food you cooked for yourself with oils and seasonings. People think they are being good to their animals but you could be killing them or starting the onset of pancreatitis, diabetes, and more chronic diseases that can be fatal.
